About The Event

Please send reservations to Count Nico (stikjock@aol.com)

It has been a rough year for all of us. With plague stalking the land, travel and trade have been restricted, vital supplies have been interrupted, and contact between friends has been limited. Nothing has been as it should be. We soldier on, regardless of these difficulties, but their impact is felt nonetheless.  In that spirit, the Barony of Kyrenia presents our Yuletide Beggar’s Banquet We of Acre are used to portraying the nobility, and Yule is typically a time to dress up in our fancy garb and put out lavish table displays with copious amounts of rich food and drink. This year, we challenge the populace to go the other way: old garb, worn and torn and faded, cracked plates and dented cups on a threadbare tablecloth, humble foods and humble drink. So go into that box in the basement of stuff you don’t use any more and dust it off for Yule. The day’s activities will include our usual caroling, carousing and general yuletide merry-making to serve as a respite from our crushing hardship and despair.   There will also be a short, fun, heavy-weapons tourney run by Lady Caitlin.

A modest day board will be provided by the grace of our Lord and the hands of the humble Brother Dante, followed by a pot-luck feast (by table) consisting of whatever foods our various households can assemble in these difficult and lean times.

Additional activities to be announced as details are finalized.

Please send reservations to Count Nico (stikjock@aol.com) and please include your medieval and mundane name and the number of adults and children (under 12) in your party.  The site fee is $14 per adult, $8 for children under 12. Free for babes-in-arms.
