About The Event
Hark! Draw thy gaze to these words of old, for here lies the tale of the sacred season:
High Feast of Whitsuntide
Know ye that Whitsuntide is a most holy tide of the Christian faith, wherein we honor the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples of the Christ? As the Holy Scriptures do attest, this miracle didst occur fifty days following the glorious Resurrection of Easter-tide. It is the season of Pentecost, and the days that follow—the Mondays and Tuesdays of Whit—are kept with equal devotion and joy.
But mark me, 'tis not a time for solemn prayer alone! It serves as a right proper excuse to welcome the Summer Months with a glad heart. During Whitsuntide, the lords and ladies of the manor would serve the servants while towns would choose the “Lord and Lady of the Ale” to preside over the festivities.
